How to prepare Japanese tea

 

Hojicha (Roasted tea)

Pour boiling water quickly.

 

Hojicha, which has a rich fragrant aroma, needs to be brewed with boiling hot water by quickly pouring. The teapots and teacups are also slightly larger, the amount of tea leaves is 3grams per-person, and the amount of hot water is about 130ml (per-person). The leaching time is about 30 seconds. Bancha and genmaicha are also delicious when brewed the same way.

 

STEP 1

Pour the hot water into the teapot and cups to pre-warm.

 

STEP 2

Discard the hot water from the teapot, put an adequate amount of tea leaves into the teapot (3 grams per-person).

 

STEP 3

Pour boiling hot water into the teapot, brew for 30 seconds, serve in cups.
